Well now...I've seen it all...
I am definitely going to be buying this game! I grew up with Doom, as many of you have as well, and I absolutely LOVE that game. So to mash up both of these games would be literally Insane! I cannot wait!
Let me know if any of you are going to buy this game...
One ambitious creator is bringing the world of Doom to life in Minecraft.
Doom is playable on just about everything, including a pregnancy test. But thanks to the efforts of creator Sibogy, Doom is now coming to the most popular sandbox game of all time, Minecraft, with Doomed: Demons of the Nether.
Demons of the Nether is very much a work in progress, but it's a promising one. In the two gameplay videos available via the mod's page on Planet Minecraft, we can see the desolate hellscape of Mars coming together, as well as the demons just asking to be destroyed. The project even brings a different sort of purpose to what you'd normally be doing in Minecraft. You won't have to worry about finding the right color of keycard to enter the next area, but you'll have to wipe out hordes of enemies, Serious Sam-style, if you want to proceed to another demon-infested area.
It's impressive, to be sure, but don't call it a mod. According to Sibogy, this certifiably amazing-looking work is the work of command and resource packs only, "100% no mods." The project may have reached just around 60 percent completion thus far, but it's worth keeping an eye on. Rip and tear, until you're out of blocks.
